Garden-Raised Bounty (GRuB) has two urban farms in Thurston County and works with marginalized young people, low-income families, students, seniors experiencing hunger, tribal communities, and veterans in relationship-based programming around growing and cooking food. When we started working with GRuB we were excited to partner with an organization so deeply committed to the community and relationships. Those values came through in our design process, creating a site that shows the care of their programs.
Meet our cherished friends and longstanding clients at GRuB (Garden-Raised Bounty), a local gem in Olympia. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, GRuB works passionately at the crossroads of food, education, and health systems, cultivating healthy food, people, and communities. Engaging around 1,500 Thurston County residents annually, their relationships-based programming focuses on growing and preparing good food. Dropping by the farm for meetings is one of the coolest parts of our job!
There's a seat for everyone at GRuB's table. Each year, GRuB engages 1,500 Thurston County residents of all ages in their youth and adult programming, sharing access to food, community, and education for many of the South Puget Sound's most vulnerable. August Creative first partnered with GRuB in 2018 to redesign their legacy wordpress site in Webflow CMS. Our colorful redesign honored GRuB's place in our community and helped them grow their youth and adult programming. We have partnered with the organization through board and leadership changes, growth and through the pandemic to meet community needs and to help programs thrive.
Our work with Wild Foods and Medicines, a GRuB program that connects people and youth with plants, local landscapes, and cultural traditions, has grown from a landing page in the main website to a fully designed separate website and database launched in 2023. We also assist with the management of their learning management system to share information and resources with educators.
We refreshed the website with a new look and feel in 2023.
